"Andrea is a professional artist and an example of multicultural fusion.
Born in Aachen, Germany, she has been on an artistic path since she was a girl. Andrea enjoyed finding her creative expressions in her career as an Interior Decorator and Photo Fashion Stylist. Through those years she traveled the world in the name of fashion, designed and decorated interiors, and lived a life beyond her imagination.
A few years later Andrea moved to England for her husband’s career, and together they built their wonderful family of four. They moved back to Germany, and in 2002 the family crossed the ocean to start a new exciting life in the United States.
The waiting period for the green card residency status took 6 years for Andrea. During those times she decided to expand her horizon in the world of faux finishes and executed several courses for exquisite finishes throughout the US. Andrea also found deep satisfaction and joy in enlightening both children and adults when she taught several private mixed media classes and summer camps.
Her desire to inspire is deeply rooted in her being and has awarded her with a lot of fulfillment and two amazing artistic children. Andrea’s family is her inspiration for which she is eternally grateful.
Coping with all moves, fitting in, leaving family behind, being recognized, etc. leads her to scope out the horizon and interpret invisible ones.
She reached, she sought, she looked, she dreamt and now she is; a devoted artist capable of visualizing a language spoken beyond the word.
Her creations are a visual response to life as a foreigner, transformation, and the continued reinvention of a woman in her lifetime.
Andrea aims for a sentimental collection of stories about great tests in life, purpose, and the hardest but also best times to love.
A portrait of beauty and light in all cracks of life.
I have worked in Mixed Media for the past 20 years, and have developed an eye for color and design since over 35 years. Foils, gold leaf, plaster, wax, paper, textiles, acrylics, inks, markers, and oils are my go-to materials. First layers are applied intuitively, followed by brushwork that can be abstract or lifelike.
I refer to myself as a figurative expressionist and a multi-passionate creator. I paint people, mostly women, emotions, and the human spirit.
I am fascinated by the inner human landscape lingering beneath our exterior walls. It is fragile, elusive, hopeful, and determined.
My creations are a visual response to transformation, and the continued reinvention of a woman throughout her lifetime.
